You may be aware that you can get car insurance to cover you just for the period of time that you are going to drive the car. This may be a car that you are test driving, a hire car or one that you have borrowed from a friend or relative. Whist this does leave a large segment of road users who cannot get a policy when they need to there is however an alternative. There are also pay as you go policies available tat offer car insurance at a month at a time. Pay as you go car insurance is a relatively recent addition to the variety of car insurance policies that are available.
Much like the pay as you go phone contracts you pay only or the months of road cover that you need. You can then cancel the policy online at any time that you want although the minimum is 1 month. Although not a cheap as daily car insurance it is a lot cheaper than getting an annual policy and you can get cover for people as young as 17 years of age so this makes it a valid alternative to those under 21 who cannot get temporary cover.
